Police are unhappy with final Shipra Debnath drug case report

The plaintiffs in the case have rejected the final report submitted by the RAB in the drug case filed against Shipra Debnath, a colleague of the murdered retired major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.

The court has set the next day for a hearing on the police request. Sripra Debnath was present in court at the time.

Judge Delwar Hossain of Cox’s Bazar Judicial First Instance Court (Ramu) approved the order at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Shipra’s attorney, Arup Barua, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star as Tapu. However, Arup Barua Tapu said it will take until the evening to confirm the date of the hearing.

Arup Barua Tapu said: “The trial of the case brought by the police against Shipra Debnath in connection with the murder of Major Sinha was scheduled for Thursday. The plaintiff (police) in the case has objected to the final report presented by the RAB. The court took notice of the request and set a date for the next hearing. In addition, the court granted permanent bail to Shipra Debnath, the defendant in the case.

Meanwhile, expressing dissatisfaction with the court order, Shipra Debnath told reporters at the courthouse: “We have been hurt. There is nothing satisfactory about it. Actually, we will not get Sinha back, that is the greatest truth. So there is nothing to be satisfied with. ‘

He said he was eager to go to court for the next trial.

Previously, RAB submitted its final report on December 13 after investigating the case filed under the Narcotics Act. The investigating officer mentioned in the report presented to the court that the truth was not found in all the accusations made by the police against Sripra for his involvement in drugs.

In the report, Sripa was acquitted of the case.

Retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the APBN Shamlapur checkpoint in the Baharchhara Union of Teknaf on July 31. That same night, a team from the Himchhari police post arrested Shipra Debnath, an associate of Sinha, after seizing various electronic devices, including foreign liquor and computers, in a raid on the Nilima Resort in the Himchhari area near Marine Drive Road. at Cox’s Bazar. The next day, August 1, the police filed a drug case against Shipra at the Ramu police station. First, the court assigned the task of investigating the case to the police. Subsequently, at the request of the RAB, the court changed the investigating agency and ordered the RAB to investigate.
