He said at a press conference in the Elections Building on Thursday afternoon, “There may be confusion in people’s minds – so this press conference to clear the matter. The statement blaming the EC is not welcome and unacceptable. “

Forty-two citizens have asked the president to investigate allegations of financial irregularities, corruption, and serious financial misconduct against the Electoral Commission. The letter was sent to the president on December 14.
The letter was sent to the president on behalf of 42 citizens by Supreme Court attorney Shahdin Malik, who at the time was an attorney for the EC.
Signatories to the letter include Professor Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, retired Secretary Akbar Ali Khan, who has served as an advisor to several interim governments, retired Auditor General M Hafizuddin Khan, human rights activist Sultana Kamal and educator Rasheda K Chowdhury.
The letter called for the formation of a Supreme Judicial Council under article 96 of the Constitution of Bangladesh to investigate the charges against the constitutional body.
CEC KM Nurul Huda expressed his opinion on the allegations mentioned in the letter.
He said there was “no possibility” of financial irregularities in training expenses. The allegations of corruption in the hiring process are “motivated and without foundation.” The accusations of illegal use of luxury cars outside the rules are also “false and motivated”.
Nurul Huda said: “EVM is being used to speed up the electoral process. The Electoral Commission is not directly involved in the purchase of EVM … so the allegations of corruption in the statement are false.
“Allegations of misconduct in national and local elections are also false. The 2016 election was observed by foreign diplomats. They did not complain about the election. The media also did not file any complaints. Instead, many local elections have been canceled due to irregularities ”.
Accusations by eminent persons are baseless: EC Shahadat
‘Serious fault’ of the EC, letter from 42 citizens to the president
He said: “Parliamentary and local government elections are being held in fierce competition. From 2 to 6 people compete for each position. The turnout was 60 to 70 percent.
“The news that people’s confidence in the elections is gone is unfounded.”
Earlier, Election Commissioner Shahadat Hossain also called the accusations by prominent citizens “unfounded and motivated.”
He told reporters last Sunday: “Then we just realized. I don’t think there is any basis for this. Introducing such a topic, I think, is not a consideration for supporters.
“The most painful thing is that they accused us. At the same time, they complained to His Excellency the President and again accused us. Not only that, what we have to do, the punishment, he also gave it in a sense. “
He said that such statements by eminent persons were unfounded and disregarded.
