Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that the Bangladesh economy is in a good position and moving in the right direction where the world economy is in recession amid the coronavirus epidemic.
“I think our economy is in a good position,” he told a virtual press conference after the cabinet meeting on acquisitions on Wednesday. There is nothing to panic or fear – we are now in a much better position. I’m in such good shape, which is irrelevant. I believe this trend will continue.
Noting that the government is not concerned in any way about the economic situation, the minister added that the government is very optimistic about the general situation of the economy. He stressed that the economic growth of any country worldwide is not as good as that of Bangladesh.
He said that by the grace of God, all indicators of the country’s economy have grown. In response to a question, Mustafa Kamal said that during July-November of the current financial year, revenue increased by 3.19 percent. Our plan is to start reviewing the budget. Cuts will be made where necessary.
According to the National Revenue Board (NBR), revenues of 8,092 million Tk have been collected compared to the target of 1,12,959.63 million Tk in the five months from July to November.
