The Fatwa Council, the highest Islamic authority in the United Arab Emirates, has approved the use of the coronavirus vaccine, although the use of pork gelatin. They say that even if pork carcasses are used to make the corona vaccine, it can be applied in the Muslim state.
The Fatwa Council announced Tuesday that the vaccine could be used to protect the human body in accordance with Islamic law.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayah, chairman of the Fatwa Council, said that although pork products were prohibited in Islam, the ban would not apply to vaccines made from pork gelatin in order to “protect the human body.”
The use of pig carcass gelatin in most vaccines has raised fears that coronary vaccination in Muslim countries may be hampered.
Please note that pork products are “haram” or are forbidden in Islam.
According to the advice, the pork gelatin will be taken as medicine, not as food.
By the way, several potential vaccines to prevent coronary infections are already awaiting release. To save lives in extreme cases, the Islamic world is placing more importance on vaccination by avoiding religious prohibitions.
