Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is considering a new arrangement to collect waste from home setting a fee of Rs 100 per month for the upper class and Rs 50 per month for the lower and middle class. Under the new rules, you are considering doing this with an organization in a neighborhood. Currently, more than one organization is collecting waste in a pavilion. Taking rates as desired.
The proposal was approved at the meeting of the board of directors of the highest forum of the DNCC last Monday. The meeting was held at the Mirpur Ward 10 Community Center under the chairmanship of DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam. The meeting management said that the garbage collection works will start soon under the new management.
According to sources at the meeting, effective measures have been taken in the new management to avoid anarchy in waste management, as well as to restore order. Rates will be set for this area. In this case, in the area where relatively well-off people live, the proposal to increase it to 100 rupees per month and 50 rupees in the comparatively underdeveloped area has been approved at the board meeting. Additionally, there will be a number of strict guidelines for those collecting waste, including wearing separate clothing, hand gloves, and not charging more than the prescribed fee. It will also be evaluated annually if the residents and the corporation are satisfied with the work of the garbage collection organization. According to the new regulations, waste must be collected from homes in an environmentally friendly way between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. After collecting the waste, it must be deposited in the place designated by the corporation. In case of garbage collection, action will be taken after investigation.
