The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose on Monday after three consecutive trading days of falling prices.
Despite the rise in the price index, the shares and unit prices of various companies participating in trading on the DSE have gone up and down. However, the volume of transactions has increased significantly. This is the highest transaction in the DSE in a month.
Earlier in the day, there was a hint of a large transaction on the DSE and a large increase in the price index. In the first hour of the transaction, a Tk 300 crore transaction was made at the DSE. With that, the main index rose above 20 points.
This upward trend of the index continues until the end of the transaction. At the end of the trading day, DSE’s main price index, DSEX, rose 40 points to 5,115 points.
Among the other two DSE indices, DSE Shariah is up 12 points to 1,172 points. And DSE-30 has increased by 24 points compared to the previous day and has risen to 1,617 points.
On the day of the price index rise, the shares and unit prices of 130 companies were listed on the DSE. On the other hand, 146 prices have been reduced and 60 prices have remained unchanged.
The market turnover was 1,137.34 million Tk. 60 crore 32 lakh was processed on the previous business day. As a result, the transaction has increased by Tk 28 crore 2 lakh compared to the previous day.
Previously, on November 15, a transaction of Tk 1,197.62 crore was carried out in the DSE. After that, there was no Tk 11 billion transaction on the market. As such, the largest number of transactions was recorded in the DSE in one month and 7 days on Monday.
Beximco shares were the most traded shares on the DSE on the day of the large-scale transaction. Shares of the company amounting to Taka 696 million were traded. Beximco Pharma, which ranks second, had a turnover of Tk 576 million. People’s Insurance ranks third with a turnover of Tk 29.56 crore.
Additionally, IFIC Bank, Rupali Insurance, Orion Pharma, Square Pharmaceutical, United Power Generation, Bangladesh Submarine Cables and JMI Syringes are also on the top 10 list in the transaction.
On the other hand, the general price index CASPI of the Chittagong Stock Exchange has increased 144 points. The market turnover was Tk 26 crore 73 lakh. Of the 271 companies that participated in the transaction, 116 rose. On the other hand, the prices of 93 shares fell and the prices of 51 shares were unchanged.
