Banglalink, a mobile network service provider, will provide affordable data packages to university professors and students.

Today a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Bangladesh University Grants Commission and Banglalink considering the benefits of online education activities.

According to a press release issued by UGC, users will get the Banglalink data installation in three packages of 10GB, 15GB and 30GB monthly. Students will be able to participate in online learning activities using the BDREN platform.

At the meeting, UGC President Professor Kazi Shahidullah thanked the country’s mobile operators for showing up at online education activities during the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that teachers and students are benefiting tremendously from attractive data offerings. With the launch of Banglalink, users will now be able to use the data package of their choice.

He called on Internet service providers, including Banglalink, to continue to provide special data packages at affordable prices even after the epidemic.

Banglalink Corporate and Regulatory Director Taimur Rahman said that since the beginning of the epidemic, various student problems have been identified and efforts have been made to solve them through digital initiatives. This agreement with UGC will help students continue their learning activities from home through the opportunity to use inexpensive data packages.

UGC entered into an agreement with Grameenphone Limited and Robi Axiata Limited to provide affordable Internet services to students and teachers to continue their online education activities. Furthermore, Teletalk Bangladesh Limited offers Internet services to students at a nominal cost.
