After the arrest, the police recovered Tk 4 lakh 90 thousand and 20 gold ornaments from him. The Kotwali OC Mohammad Mohsin Police Station said this on Monday.
The OC said that on November 3, a resident of the city’s Ghatfarhadbeg area filed a case with the police alleging that 50 pieces of jewelry and 200,000 taka in cash had been stolen from his home. The plaintiff blamed his maid for the incident. Kulsum was arrested on December 18 in the Noarbil area of Lohagara upazila on theft charges. Gold ornaments and cash were recovered from him.
The OC further said that she is basically a housewife from a wealthy family. The husband and children live abroad. Even then, under a false name, she worked as a maid in the homes of the rich. After realizing the opportunity, he recovered the theft and cut it off in time.
