The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested two officials from the Pirojpur Audit Department with bribery money.
They were arrested on the third floor of the LGED building in Pirojpur on Monday afternoon along with a bribe of Taka 417,000.
The detainees are- SAS Superintendent of the Department of Audit of Education, Culture and Religion. Zaheer Raihan and Audit and Accounts Officer. Shamim Hossain.
Arrested Zaheer Barisal Gournadi Mahilara village dead. Muslim Ali Hawladar’s son and Shamim Meherpur district, Gangni upazila, passed away Md. Jalal Uddin son.
A six-member team led by Debabrata Mandal, deputy director of the ACC’s Barisal Integrated District Office, detained them.
Debabrata Mandal said that based on secret information, the ACC raided the third floor of the LGED building and arrested the two officials along with Tk 417,000. The detainees were staying in the building to audit the district and upazila education offices in Pirojpur.
He also said that the process of presenting a case against the detainees is in process.
District Elementary Education Officer. Jesser Ali said that they had received a letter from the audit department a few days ago to audit the primary education offices in Pirojpur. In this context, the two officials have come to audit the primary education offices in Pirojpur. They have already completed the audit work on three of the seven upazilas.
