Luxury pleasure boat with more than five hundred tourists in St. Martin

The Minister of State for Maritime Transport, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, inaugurated the ship’s journey at the terminal of the Anwara shipyard on the Karnafuli River at 5 pm on Sunday. To ensure the centenary of Bangabandhu’s birth and a safe journey for tourists, the state-of-the-art ship has been brought from Japan by ‘Karnafuli Ship Builders Limited’.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of State for Maritime Transport, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, said that MA Rashid, a tourism-friendly business engineer, has brought a luxury ship Bay One Cruise Ship from Japan to develop the tourism industry of the country to mark the centenary of the birth of Bangabandhu. He hoped that Bay One would play an important role in developing tourism in Cox’s Bazar.

MA Rashid, managing director of Karnafuli Ship Builders Limited, told Prothom Alo that the luxury ship brought in from Japan will have an additional 150 crew members in addition to the 18 crew members. At 450 feet long and 55 feet wide, the ship is capable of withstanding rough seas. The passenger capacity is two thousand. It will operate at a speed of 24 nautical miles per hour.

Hossain Bahadur, Cox’s Bazar coordinator for Bay One Cruise Ship, told Prothom Alo that the ticket price for the ship was Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,000. The rent for the hut will be 25 thousand to 30 thousand rupees. The ship will operate until next April. Passengers will be able to cross the street following the health regulations.
