Opponents beat 53-year-old Nur Mohammad Nuru to death over a dispute over land. Police arrested two people in the incident.
The incident took place in the Kushmail union’s Baruka Uttarpara village in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nur Mohammad, son of Raushan Ali from Baruka Uttarpara village under the union of Kushmail of the Upazila.
According to the police, Nur Mohammad had been arguing with his cousin Abdul Kadduch for five or six years. About a month ago, Nur Mohammad received death threats and a fence was erected in the center of the house. Nuru Mia was blocked and left the house and filed a case about the land dispute.
A month later, on Sunday afternoon, Nuru Mia went home with the help of the police. The police went to her home and advised her not to fight and left Nuru Mia at home.
The opponents got into a fight with Nur Mohammad after the police left. There is a debate as to why Nur Mohammad has brought a case against the Kaddus. At one point, opponents beat him and seriously injured him. He later died on the way to the Fulbaria Upazila Health Complex.

The Fulbaria police officer in charge (OC) said. Azizur Rahman said Nur Mohammad stayed home after persuading the opponent not to fight. But half an hour after the arrival of the police, Nur Mohammad was beaten to death by his opponents. A murder case is being prosecuted in this incident. The body will be sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Two people have been arrested in the incident.
