The post of Secretary General of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh was vacated after the death of Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi. Allama Qasemi was appointed to the position through the National Council. But in less than a month, Hifazat leaders have to think again to fill the vacancy. Efforts are being made to fix the new secretary general in the current situation. It could be finalized soon by a meeting of the central leaders of the organization.
Hefazat’s secretary general, Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi, died suddenly on December 13. Since then, the question of selecting a new face for publication has been debated. However, due to various complications, so far no one has been held liable. It has been decided to fill this position through a meeting of the top managers of the organization. Hefazat organizing secretary Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi said it would be completed in a few days.
According to sources, the new Hefazat committee has four deputy general secretaries. They are Maulana Junaid Al Habib, Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haq, Maulana Lokman Hakim and Maulana Nasir Uddin Munir. However, the chances of him becoming secretary general are very low.
Earlier, during the National Council meeting held on November 15, Maulana Ataullah Hafezji, Emir of the Khilafah Movement and Naib Amir of Hifazat, was in the discussion together with Allama Qasemi as Secretary General. There are discussions that you can get to this position at zero. Also, there are rumors about the names of another Naib Amir Maulana Nurul Islam Jihadi and the famous Mamunul Haque.
Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, CEO of Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam (Bara Madrasa) Madrasa in Hathazari, Chittagong, died on September 18 while undergoing treatment at the Azgar Ali Medical College Hospital in Dhaka.
After the death of Allama Shafi, there was a division among the leaders over Hefazat’s leadership and authority. The Hefazat National Council was held on November 15 amid opposition from former Deputy Secretary-Generals Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi and Mufti Faizullah and Allama Shafi’s son and former Publicity Secretary Anas Madani. Allama Junaid Babungari was appointed Amir and Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi was appointed Secretary General. He continued to oppose the committee, calling it illegal.
Meanwhile, brother-in-law Mohammad Moinuddin filed a case in Chittagong Magistrate Shiplu Kumar’s court last Thursday alleging that Allama Shafi was tortured to death. Hefazat’s Deputy Secretary General Maulana Nasir Uddin Munir, Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque and 38 others have been charged in the case. In addition, between 80 and 90 unknown individuals were charged. The court learned of the case and ordered the Police Investigation Office (PBI) to investigate and submit a report within a month. Most of the defendants named in the case are followers of the current Emir of Hifazat, Junaid Babungari; They are in different positions.
Affected persons have alleged that the case was started by the party who did not get a seat on the new Hefazat committee. They said the case against Allama Shafi for murder was completely unfounded and conspiratorial. It will be dealt with legally.
