Divorce after a few hours of marriage with exchange of gifts

The divorce took place a few hours after the wedding in Bagmara, Rajshahi. Divorce occurs when the bride and groom begin to argue about the distribution of gifts given to the wedding guests.

The incident took place in the Ismailpur village of upazila on Friday afternoon.

According to the police and locals, 26-year-old Mohsin Ali from Gangopara village in Telipukur of upazila married Jasmine Akter, 23, from Ismailpur village in the same upazila for a price of 100,000 Tk. However, when bringing the new bride to the groom’s house, there is an obstacle.

The dispute over the distribution of gifts first reached a climax and then the dispute. This condition lasts until late at night. The matter was brought to the attention of the police through the local leaders of the Awami League. Later, the couple’s marriage was dissolved by an agreement between the two parties.

In this regard, said the marriage registrar Akkach Ali, the divorce has occurred due to the single assignment of the bride and groom. There is a lack of tolerance between people on both sides. Such incidents are very sad.

According to the bride’s family, the groom has gone too far with the gifts. We wanted the world to be but it didn’t happen because of benefactors.

However, they declined to comment when contacted about the allegations.

Azhar Ali, a neighbor of the groom and a former UP member, said both parties should have calmed down a bit. Such an event is undesirable.

Bagmara Police Inspector (investigation) Afzal Hossain said no one had complained about the matter. You have heard that the two parties have parted ways by compromise.
