After being detained, Drug Control Department officials turned over Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman and his associate Wahiduzzaman Lajuk to the Chapainawabganj Sadar model police station. Saifur Rahman, Inspector of the Chapainawabganj District Office of the Drug Control Office, filed a case with the Sadar Model Police Station charging Undersecretary Nuruzzaman and his accomplice under the Narcotics Control Act. At around 10:30 pm, administration officials took Nuruzzaman inside the circuit house and removed the officials from the Drug Control Department. They were not allowed to enter the circuit house until 4:30 pm on Saturday. The journalists were also detained at the main entrance of the circuit house. With the handover of Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the administration spent the entire day in procrastination and indecision.
When asked about the allegation that Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman was not turned over to the Drug Enforcement Office, the Chapainawagganj Moha Deputy Commissioner (DC) asked at 3:15 pm on Saturday. Manjurul Hafiz told Jugantar: “We have not raised any objections from the administration.” The matter is a matter for the Department of Drug Control to decide. According to locals, he often used drugs and used to fight with people of different classes and professions, including truck drivers and rickshaw pullers. At that time, the locals had filed a written complaint with the district administration and the secretary of public administration to remove him from Puthia. However, no action was taken against Nuruzzaman and he was transferred to the post of Manda Upazila Nirbahi, Naogaon officer.
There, too, Mohammad Nuruzzaman initiated various controversial activities. Protests were organized against him in Manda due to his coercive and undisciplined activities as Puthia. After being attached to the Naogaon District Administration Office for some time, he was recently promoted to the post of Executive Officer of the Rajshahi District Council.
