After much drama, the court ordered the executive director (deputy secretary) of the Rajshahi district council, Mohammad Nuruzzaman, to be sent to jail.

After the hearing at 5 pm on Saturday, Chapainawabganj Chief Judicial Magistrate, Judge Moha. Abu Kahar’s undersecretary Nuruzzaman and his associates ordered Lajuk to be sent to jail.

Sources said Mohammad Nuruzzaman was arrested along with his accomplice in the tollghar area of the Chapainawabganj Mahananda Bridge around 9pm on Friday as he was returning to Rajshahi after purchasing Phensidyl in five large coca-cola bottles in a government Pajero car. .

Mohammad Nuruzzaman himself was driving a government vehicle without a driver. Mohammad Nuruzzaman was recently promoted to the post of Undersecretary and joined the post of Executive Director of the Rajshahi District Council.

Meanwhile, during the campaign, Mohammad Nuruzzaman came forward as an undersecretary. Upon receiving the news, officials from the Chapainawabganj district administration went to the scene and brought Nuruzzaman to the circuit house from the expedition officers of the Drug Control Department.

After arranging for him to stay at the circuit house for the night, officials from the NDC Drug Control Office in Chapainawabganj fired him. However, officials from the Drug Enforcement Department were no longer allowed to enter the circuit house. They spent the night guarding the main entrance to the circuit.

With Nuruzzaman’s handover, officials from the Drug Control Department made a fuss with the administration throughout the day.

Meanwhile, after waiting all day on Saturday, Mohammad Nuruzzaman was taken out of the Chapainawabganj Circuit House at around 4:30 pm.

After being detained, Drug Control Department officials turned over Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman and his associate Wahiduzzaman Lajuk to the Chapainawabganj Sadar model police station. Saifur Rahman, Inspector of the Chapainawabganj District Office of the Drug Control Office, filed a case with the Sadar Model Police Station charging Undersecretary Nuruzzaman and his accomplice under the Narcotics Control Act. The home of another defendant Lajuk is in Kansat de Chapainawabganj.

Nuruzzaman appeared in court together with his accomplice at 5pm on Saturday. After the hearing, he ordered Nuruzzaman and Lajuk to be sent to jail.

Additional Director (Under Secretary) of Rajshahi Divisional Narcotics Control Department, Moha. Jafrullah Kajal said that Mohammad Nuruzzaman was returning to Rajshahi in his government vehicle from Kansat in Chapainawabganj after filling five large coca bottles with phencidyl. Officials from the Drug Control Department were already on duty there. When the black government Pajero jeep arrived at the Mahananda Bridge toll plaza area around 9 p.m., officials from the Department of Drug Control asked the driver of the vehicle to stop to search it.

At that time, the person sitting in the driver’s seat introduced himself as the undersecretary of government and strongly opposed the search of the car. However, officials from the Department of Drug Control searched the car with the permission of higher officials and found 5 large bottles of Coca-Cola. They opened the bottles and found that they were filled with liquid phencidyl. These liquids are equivalent to 75 bottles of Phensidyl and the quantity is 7.8 liters, said the interested party.

When they immediately wanted to arrest Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman, some officials from the Chapainawabganj district administration came and took him to the circuit. The car is kept inside the circuit house.

At around 10:30 pm, administration officials took Nuruzzaman inside the circuit house and removed the officials from the Drug Control Department. They were not allowed to enter the circuit house until 4:30 pm on Saturday. The journalists were also detained at the main entrance of the circuit house. With the handover of Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the administration spent the entire day in procrastination and indecision.

When asked about the allegation that Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman was not turned over to the Drug Enforcement Office, the Chapainawagganj Moha Deputy Commissioner (DC) asked at 3:15 pm on Saturday. Manjurul Hafiz told Jugantar: “We have not raised any objections from the administration.” The matter is a matter for the Department of Drug Control to decide. They will be able to explain why Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman was not removed from the Circuit House. If someone commits a crime, it is not the responsibility of the administration or the government. The law will run at its own pace. There is nothing to stop anyone here. We just took Mohammad Nuruzzaman to the circuit house to make sure of his identity and title.

On the other hand, when asked about the arrest of CEO Nuruzzaman with fencidyl in the district council vehicle, Rajshahi district council chairman Mohammad Ali Sarkar said: “Just a few days ago, Mohammad Nuruzzaman joined as executive director of the Rajshahi district council. ” I don’t know where I was before. With the approval of the Ministry of Local Government, the Ministry of Public Administration has delegated it to the Rajshahi District Council. If someone commits a crime, it is the responsibility of the officer in question. It is not the responsibility of the district council.

The search revealed shocking information about Undersecretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman. In 2015, while he was the CEO of Puthia Upazila in Rajshahi, he was criticized for various controversial activities. There are serious accusations that Mohammad Nuruzzaman habitually uses illicit drugs. At that time, he used to travel from Puthia to Charghat and Bagha at the border every day in government vehicles to take Phensidyl; He would hit anyone in front of him.

According to locals, he often used drugs and used to fight with people of different classes and professions, including truck drivers and rickshaw pullers. At that time, the locals had filed a written complaint with the district administration and the secretary of public administration to remove him from Puthia. However, no action was taken against Nuruzzaman and he was transferred to the post of Manda Upazila Nirbahi, Naogaon officer.

There, too, Mohammad Nuruzzaman initiated various controversial activities. Protests were organized against him in Manda due to his coercive and undisciplined activities as Puthia. After being attached to the Naogaon District Administration Office for some time, he was recently promoted to the post of Executive Officer of the Rajshahi District Council. Within days of joining, he was arrested on phencyclidine.
