Letter from 42 prominent citizens to the president against the EC

Forty-two prominent citizens of the country have requested the formation of a Supreme Judicial Council against the Chief Elections Commissioner (CEC) and the Electoral Commissioners. They appealed to the president on December 14, alleging financial irregularities, corruption and serious misconduct related to the election. He also requested a meeting with the President to discuss the matter directly.

Apart from this, the irregularities in the elections of the eleventh Jatiya Sangsad, North Dhaka, South Dhaka, Gazipur, Khulna, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Barisal City Corporation are also included in the misconduct. In the letter, they requested the formation of a Supreme Council of the Judiciary in accordance with article 96 of the Constitution.
