The leader of the Jubo League, Anisur Rahman Anis, is the mastermind behind the demolition of the Bagha Jatin sculpture, the forerunner of the much-discussed anti-British movement in Kushtia. Police arrested three people, including him, in the incident.
They were arrested on Friday night at different locations in Kumarkhali upazila. Police initially confirmed that the sculpture was vandalized due to a personal dispute between the board of directors and the principal of Kaya College College with the leader of the Juba League.
