Nuruzzaman, Executive Director of the Rajshahi District Council
The Department of Narcotics Control arrested Nuruzzaman and one of his associates while transporting phencidyl in a government vehicle. He was arrested in the Mahananda Bridge toll plaza area in Chapainawabganj around 10 pm on Friday. The Rajshahi Divisional Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department (DD) confirmed the matter. Jafrullah Kajal.
He said that while Phensidyl was being taken away in a government Pajero vehicle, officials from the Department of Narcotics Control arrested one of his associates, including Rajshahi District Council Executive Director Nuruzzaman, on the basis of secret information. They carried phencyclidine in bottles of Coca-Cola soda. At that time, his car was impounded based on secret information. The two were later arrested along with Phensidyl in 65 bottles of Coca-Cola stored under the roof of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, after the arrest, a closed-door meeting with Deputy District Secretary Nuruzzaman was taking place in a room at the Chapainawabganj Circuit House. However, his accomplice was detained in the car by officials from the Department of Narcotics Control. Upon receiving the news, journalists from Chapainawabganj crowded there at night. The meeting was taking place at 12 o’clock at the time of writing this report.
