He extended the invitation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a virtual summit of the two countries on Thursday.
Later, at a briefing at the Padma State Guest House in Dhaka, Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswamy said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also expressed interest.”
The virtual bilateral meeting began at 11:30 pm. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Dhaka and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Delhi attended the meeting via video conference.
Before their meeting, seven framework agreements, protocols and memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries on seven topics including energy, social development and agriculture at the Padma State Guest House in Dhaka.

The New Development Bank (NDB) was launched on July 21, 2015 at the initiative of BRICS, an economic alliance of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS).
At the time it was said that the New Development Bank could become an alternative to the World Bank and the IMF to finance infrastructure development and various development projects in these countries.
