Fourteen people have been sentenced to various prison terms in connection with a terrorist attack on the office of the French magazine Shirley Abdor. The main defendant, Ali Riza Polat, was sentenced to 30 years in prison. A French court delivered the verdict on Wednesday.
According to the BBC, 11 of the 14 convicted were presented in court. The other three are fugitives. Evidence of involvement in terrorist activities has been found against the main defendant Ali Riza Polat. The court then sentenced him to 30 years in prison. Other defendants have been sentenced to different prison terms.
In January 2015, Shirley Abdor’s office was attacked by terrorists. A Jewish-owned supermarket was also attacked. A total of 16 people died in the terrorist attack. In last Wednesday’s verdict, each of the 14 defendants has been convicted of various crimes. They have all been shown to be involved in the criminal gangs of the 2015 terrorist attacks.
