In Mauritius there is a road named after Bangabandhu

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her firm commitment to work together to deepen bilateral relations with Mauritius. He made the promise in a video message after a road in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, was named after Bangabandhu.

The Prime Minister said: “We are committed to working together to take our existing bilateral relationship to a new height. We support each other in regional and international forums. I believe that after assuming the position of President of the Indian Ocean Basin Association the Next year, Bangladesh will work to further strengthen the relationship of cooperation and understanding between the two countries in the coming days.

He added: “I am very happy to know that a road in Port Louis, the capital of the heavenly island of Mauritius, is named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, the greatest Bengali of all time.”

Sheikh Hasina said: “On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh and I personally thank the Government of Mauritius and its kind people and those who have worked tirelessly to ignore the Covid-19 epidemic.”
