Raisa alias Bushra, a two-year-old boy, was kidnapped and strangled to death in Sakhipur. Raiser’s cousin, Suma Khan, pleaded guilty in court on Wednesday.
According to police, Raiser’s father, Raju Khan, borrowed 200,000 rupees from his uncle Arman Khan while on his way to Iraq three years ago. But Raju did not pay that money. In that rage, Arman Khan and his wife Suma Khan kidnapped Raisa on Monday afternoon and kept her at home. When Raisa screamed, Suma Khan pressed her face. At one point, he strangled her by wrapping a scarf around her neck. Then he put the body in a sack and put it on a wooden platform. Later that night, the police recovered the boy’s body.
Arman and his wife Suma Khan were arrested by the police after Raiser’s mother, Lipa Akhter, filed a lawsuit against her. On Wednesday, Tangail Chief Judge Sumon Kumar Karmakar confessed to killing Raisa in a court under Section 164. However, Suma Khan’s husband, Arman Khan, has denied the murder. Later, the court sent them to jail.
Deputy Inspector Sirajul Islam, an investigating officer, said Suma Khan had confessed to kidnapping and murdering Raisa to recover money owed.
