Freedom fighters were injured in the opposition attack in Tungipara

Badshah Mollah, 60, a heroic freedom fighter, was injured in a land dispute in Gopalganj’s Tungipara upazila. The incident took place in the village of Gingadanga Paschimpara in upazila on Wednesday. Police arrested Masum Mollah, 40, a nephew of Badsha Mollah in the incident.

The injured Badsha Mollah is the son of the late Masud Mollah from the village of Gimadanga Paschimpara in Tungipara upazila. He was admitted to the Tungipara Upazila Health Complex with injuries. When his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the Gopalganj General Hospital with 250 beds. He is currently in treatment there.

Hafiz Mollah, the son of Badshah Mollah, said that his uncle Akbar Mollah was having a dispute with his father over the land. Akbar Mollah recently started occupying his father’s property. His father has filed a court case to get the land back. His uncle got angry and threatened him. He further said: ‘On the day of Victory Day, Baba was preparing to pay homage at the tomb of the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara. At that moment Cousin Masum, Hasan and Hossain came from behind and attacked the father. He struck and stabbed his father and seriously injured him. When I tried to stop the fight, they beat me and hurt me. Then they destroyed one of our houses. Threatens to attack again if he takes refuge in the law. In this situation, we are now suffering from insecurity.
