Salauddin himself does not receive any remuneration in this tournament. He takes care of his BPL team, the Dhaka Premier League team, the academy as part of his regular job at Gazi Group. He is also the head coach of Gazi Group. But the retribution of other coaches has also touched him.
The day before the final of the tournament, the successful national cricket coach expressed his thoughts on remuneration in front of the media on the Mirpur Academy field.
“I am not paid here, I work for Gazi Group. But I am very ashamed of the remuneration of other coaches. All my life I have wanted coaches to come to Bangladesh, for more former cricketers to come to train. May they live in good dignity. Me It seems like I would never say to a boy, ‘Come train.’
The complaints of the country’s coaches about their remuneration and attitude towards coaches go back many years. They complain that in national cricket, even when recruited or offered in various roles on the national team, the pay is usually much lower.
This year’s Bangabandhu T20 has seen some examples too. The lowest grade cricketers (grade D) earn a salary of Rs 4 lakh. The remuneration of the head coaches of the teams has been set at Tk 3 lakh.
Salauddin’s voice lamented this amount of remuneration, his attitude towards the coaches.
“I don’t know if the coaches in this country are evaluated. You see, we are ‘E’ grade people. What a ‘D’ rated player gets, a coach doesn’t get. So why would you ask another coach to Would you come to this profession? We are ‘E’ grade people, the assistant coaches are probably ‘F’ grade, the coaches are ‘G’, ‘H’ or something.
“I think the correct evaluation must be made. Not evaluating the coaches means that we have no influence on the team. In fact, we are only organizing a match, organizing a tournament. We have nothing else to do. “
