Sonali Bank is accused of raising the flag with a broomstick

An indictment has been brought against the Jessore branch of Manirampur Sonali Bank Limited for raising the national flag with a broomstick. On Wednesday (December 16) morning, a photo of Erm went viral on Facebook. Upon receiving the information, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Syed Zakir Hasan, Deputy Commissioner (land) Palash Debnath, OC Rafiqul Islam Police Station, OC (investigation) Sikder Matiar Rahman and others visited the site. It was learned that the banking authorities changed their position quickly after detecting the presence of UNO.

When the image of raising the national flag with a broomstick went viral on Facebook, there was a storm of criticism in the area. Sanction has been demanded from the director of the bank branch.

People flocked to the Upazila Parishad facility in groups from Wednesday morning to attend the program organized by the Upazila administration that included the delivery of flowers on Victory Day. Joining the board is the Manirampur branch of Sonali Bank. The issue of raising the flag with a broomstick later came to the attention of the locals. After that, the image of the national flag on the broomstick with the bank’s logo was spread on Facebook.

However, the bank official claimed that the support was a GI pipe used for his own protection. Ansar, a member of the Jahangir Alam bank, mistakenly hoisted the flag on the GI tube leaving the flag carrier raised.

Sonali Bank Limited Manirampur branch manager Farukuzzaman said: ‘The flag-raising stand is not a broomstick. We mount a white support to raise the flag. Ansar members were also instructed to raise the flag at the booth. By mistake, he raised the flag on a colorful GI pipe.

Syed Zakir Hasan, Manirampur Upazila Nirbahi officer, said: “I went to the scene after receiving the news. I changed the stand from standing. The way the flag was raised didn’t fix it. I have spoken with the DGM of the bank. I have asked you to take action against the Manirampur branch manager immediately.
When asked about this, Sonali Bank Limited’s Deputy General Manager for the Jessore region, Shafiqul Islam, said: ‘The local UN informed me about the matter by phone. Action will be taken after the investigation.
Manirampur OC Police Station (Investigation) Sikder Matiar Rahman said: “When we left, the flag pedestal had been changed.”
