Dhaka captain Mushfiqur Rahim went to throw the ball to his teammate Nasum Ahmed in the match against Bangabandhu Fortune Barisal on the stage of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup yesterday. In accordance with the BCB Code of Conduct, Mushfiqur was fined 25 percent of the match fee. He also added a point of demerit next to his name. It is a Level 1 offense according to the BCB Code of Conduct (2.6). Two outfield officials Gazi Sohail and Mahfuzur Rahman, third official Masudul Rahman Mukul and fourth official Muhiduzzaman Swapan made the accusation after yesterday’s match. The match referee Rakibul Hasan Mushfiqur was convicted on the basis of evidence.

A separate hearing was not necessary as Mushiqur Rahim admitted the accusations against him. According to article 7.5, Mushfiqur could be sent off if he scores 4 demerit points in the tournament. Mushfiqur will have to be banned for 1 match if he scores 4 demerit points. The minimum penalty for such offenses is the reprimand and the maximum penalty is the 50 percent party fee deduction, as well as 1/2 point of demerit.
