The first young woman arrested in India under the Profit Jihad law. Relatives of the woman claimed Sunday that the abortion was performed while she was in police custody. This was reported by the British media The Sunday Telegraph.

The name of the arrested girl is Muskan Jahan. She lived with her husband’s family in the city of Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh. The police arrested the girl and her husband Rashid from there. It has been alleged that the girl’s husband has remained in an unknown location since her arrest.

Muskan has been arrested for converting to Islam.

Muskan told his mother-in-law by phone on Saturday that he had bled and lost his son.

Muskan’s mother-in-law claimed that she believed that detention center staff had given her three-month-pregnant daughter-in-law injections to abort. Because she converted from Hinduism and married a Muslim.

“The cruel world fired this child before we saw him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh police arrested 10 people under the “Love Jihad” Law for forcing women to change their religion after marriage.

Last month, Uttar Pradesh became the first state in India to pass a law against forced or fraudulent conversions. There is also a prison provision of up to 10 years for forcing someone to convert or forcing them to convert through marriage. Critics say it is the anti-Muslim agenda of the BJP government.
