A 15-year-old housewife has been accused of gang-raping members of her family in Ramgati, Laxmipur. The incident took place in Char Algi Union of the upazila at around 2.30 pm last night.
The victim’s father became the plaintiff in the incident, mentioning a person’s name around 4.30pm on Monday and filing a lawsuit against three unidentified individuals at the Ramgati police station.
Ramgati OC Mohammad Solaiman Police Station confirmed the information to The Daily Star.
He said: ‘The father of the victim filed a written complaint with the police against the four on Monday afternoon. The police registered a written complaint and arrested the main defendant. An attempt is being made to arrest the other three defendants.
Quoting the plaintiff in the case, the CO said: “The defendants have caused this incident due to prior animosity. No one involved in the incident will be saved.
The victim was rescued in critical condition and admitted to the Ramgati Upazila Health Complex and later to the Laxmipur Sadar Hospital.

Police and the victim’s family said the relative and the housewife fell asleep after dinner Sunday night. Late at night, a group of unidentified men led by the young accused broke down the door and entered the house. Upon entering the house, they tied their hands and feet to the relatives and locked them in a room. In the other room, the defendant gang-raped the four victims. At that moment, they hit the victim on the head and hit him randomly. Along the way, they fled with valuables such as money and gold ornaments. After hearing the screams, the people of the area came and rescued the relatives including the housewife.
