Dhaka: Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi, general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, was also general secretary of a section of Ulema-e-Islam in Jamiat, a partner of the 20-party alliance.
He died at United Hospital on Sunday (December 13) at 12:50 p.m.
Meanwhile, he was buried at 11:15 a.m. on Monday (December 14) at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Janaza. Later on Monday night, BNP president Shairul Kabir Khan’s press wing member sent a message of condolence on behalf of the 20-party alliance.
When asked, Shairul Kabir told Bangladesh that he had sent the message of condolence on the instructions of Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the BNP standing committee and coordinator of the 20-party alliance. When asked why it was so late, he said, “I have no comment on this.”
It is said in the condolence message that Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi, secretary general of Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh, one of the partners of the 20-party alliance, passed away at the United Hospital in the capital on Sunday afternoon. The top leaders of the 20-party alliance have expressed deep grief over his death.

Leaders of 20 parties said that the country and the nation lost a patriotic politician after the death of the late Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi. And we lost a road tested partner. Allama Qasemi was a very generous, gentle and humble man. He was an efficient organizer, carrying out his organizational functions with the utmost devotion. As an Islamic thinker, he has profoundly influenced the people of this country. As a well-known scholar of Islam, he was highly respected in Bangladesh.
I pray to Allah the Almighty, may Allah bless you with heaven. We pray for the resilience of his grieving family and loved ones. We are deeply saddened by his death. We seek the forgiveness of the late soul of the late Allama Noor Hossain Qasemi and extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, fans and supporters.
It is known that no senior BNP leader went to the hospital to see Nur Hossain Kasemi. Also, no one attended his janaza on Monday morning.
