The president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Colonel Oli Ahmed, has said that the one-party system will soon collapse. He said that on the night of March 25, 1971, as a young captain, risking his life with full hope, I was the first to carry out an armed revolt to liberate Bangladesh. I thought, if the country becomes independent, we will have no more misery. But today that has been shown to be wrong. During the current government’s tenure, it has become difficult to live with self-respect. We freedom fighters have made the country independent. I got the title of heroism in the liberation war. But step by step they are disrespecting us. The nation did not wage a war of liberation over this kind of golden Bengal. He said it while addressing a discussion meeting on the occasion of the Great Victory Day at the Institute of Diploma Engineers in the capital on Sunday.
Colonel Oli Ahmed said the country has been under the one-party regime for a long time. There is no peace, there is no justice, good government is exiled and democracy is buried. Basic human rights have been taken away. No one’s life or property is guaranteed. The country is moving towards an uncertain future. Today, the entire country and nation are being held hostage by a corrupt, looting, and greedy class of politicians. They have smashed our dreams. It has devastated the country. He has destroyed the unit. There is nothing left to say about social values and ethics.
He said that corruption and drugs have entered the hole of society. Remember, a nation devoid of principle and ethics will never be able to achieve its desired goal. Today’s society has become unbalanced. You need to get rid of this unbearable condition. The people of the country have given much blood, they have endured much injustice and oppression. The current situation has exceeded the limits of human endurance and patience. I believe that the one-party regime will end very soon.
Said the Secretary General of the PLD. Chaired by Redwan Ahmed, the party’s Deputy General Secretary Tamizuddin Titu, BNP Vice President Barrister Shahajan Omar, and Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Major General Syed Mohammad Ibrahim spoke on the occasion. Also present at the discussion were PLD Advisor Professor Karima Khatun, Senior Organizing Secretary Syed Mohammad Ibrahim Raonak, Secretary General of the Democratic Youth Party Safiul Bari Raju, Senior Secretary for Information and Research Md. Mahbubur Rahman and others .
