Villagers have filed a written complaint with the administration demanding that immediate action be taken to stop various anti-social activities at Kadaria Yasinia Durbar Sharif in Naogaon Sadar village in Dogachhi. Khanka Sharif of East Pir is located in Dogachi Dangapara on the west side of the Dogachi Government Primary School of Boalia Union Parishad of Sadar Upazila.
On behalf of the villagers, Mizanur Rahman, son of the late Pir Akhtar, said in his written complaint that his father died in October this year. Baba Kadriya was a Pir in the Yasinia Darbar Sharif. Various anti-Islamic activities take place there. Dad didn’t bathe for almost a decade. He used to offer devotion inside the court once every night on the south side and the indoor bathroom is being built and used on the west side. As a child, I was strongly opposed to my father’s anti-Islamic activities. After the death of her father, his second wife Nasreen Akhter Rani and all her devotees came to Durbar Sharif and buried her without following the rules of Islam without my consent.
In the written complaint, he also said that different men and women came and danced and sang while playing tabla near my father’s grave and dirtied each other. In addition, a variety of food is placed on the grave thinking that the father is still alive. Lately my little brother Kibria also tries to be a pir like his father.
Despite submitting written complaints to the deputy commissioner, the police superintendent, the local UP president, and members calling for an end to these anti-Islamic activities, they have so far not taken any visible action.
Many locals, including Abdur Rashid and Shahjahan Sheikh, said that the youth and other men and women received disciples in the name of Islam at this Durbar Sharif. And the fans here are drug addicts, day laborers, rickshaw pullers, truck drivers, and other kinds of people. Those who have taken Akhtar’s disciples come here and dance and sing at night. We villagers want to obtain permanent protection from all these hypocrites.
Akhtar’s older brother, Anwar Hossain, 65, said Akhtar was good at one point. But suddenly he asserted himself as a pir. Despite many attempts, we were unable to improve it. Some drug addicts start dealing with bad people. When we evicted him from our house, he moved to another place and built a place called Khanka Sharif.
Aflatun Nesha, a local UP member, said that Akhtar fans come to the khanka every Monday and Thursday night, drinking cannabis, alcohol and other drugs and playing drums. It’s hard to tell when they do. The locals, including myself, have repeatedly called on the administration to take action against this Durbar Sharif, but to no avail.
Alhaj Hassanul Al Mamun, president of Boalia Union Parishad, said that Akhtar was removed after he stole a mosque watch while he was the muezzin of the mosque in our village. From then on his hypocrisy began. I have tried more than once to stop these activities of Akhtar but could not. Therefore, firm steps from the administration are much needed to overthrow this court of hypocrites.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi’s officer, Mirza Imam Uddin, said: “I have received a written complaint in this regard.” Management must take strong action to close or vacate this Durbar Sharif.
