Fortune Barisal won the last match of the preliminary round of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup by 2 runs.
Afif Hossain and Touhid Hridoy’s devastating hitting at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday led Barisal to 193 runs. Dhaka can go up to 191 in the match decided in the last over.
Naeem made 105 of 64 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes.
In the first match of the day, the equation was simple against Barisal when the Rajshahi Group of Ministers lost. This equation may have warmed up Barisal’s hitters. Three batters were able to see the first fifty of the event. In the opening, Saif Hasan made 50 innings with 43 balls. Afif Hossain made 50 of 25 balls with 5 sixes.
The real surprise was the gift from Touhid’s heart. The hitter, who is known to be slow, showed up again and hit an undefeated 51-to-4-sixes. His fifty of 22 balls is the fastest in the event.
At the fourth gate, Hridoy and Afif scored 91 runs from 36 balls.
After losing the draw, Saif and Tamim Iqbal gave Barisal a good start. They did 50 runs in 6 power play overs. Tamim only got 10 balls to hit, Saif did the job of increasing the run.
After a pair of 59 races, Tamim lost his window to become aggressive. The Barisal captain conceded a long distance to irregular spinner Al Amin (19 of 19 balls) after he hit the limit with excellent timing.
Parvez Hossain Emon couldn’t breathe at race speed. Rabiul Islam has reached six and four in one. However, the country’s fastest T20 centurion, Muktar Ali, received a wicket with 13 runs of 13 balls.
After Afif took the wicket, he gave Muktar a big six and left the fold. Mushfiqur Rahim took Rubel Hossain bowling to break the tie. Works. After touching fifty, Saif made a place and went to play and was caught by Mushfiqur.
In the next over, Robi singled six to Afif off left-arm pacemaker Shafiqul Islam. Afif explained the compensation to Karaya-Ganda. The heart burns in a great way.
Barisal had 69 runs in the last 6 overs with two killer bats! There were six in each. Muktar hit three sixes in the 19th over. In the last ending, they both completed fifty. The team reaches the direction of great score.
He was previously confirmed to be in the top four, but there was another equation versus Dhaka. If they win, they will raise by two, there will be two chances for the final. Naeem and Sabbir Rahman scored 52 runs in 6 overs.
After the power play, Suhrawardy Shuvo pulled on Dhaka’s rush. The left arm spinner, playing for the first time in the tournament, returned the first ball to Sabbir (19 of 11 balls).
In his next finale, Suhrawardy fired Mushfiqur Rahim and Al Amin. Dhaka’s running speed slowed a bit with three thrusts.
With Tamim out due to illness, Naeem and Yasir Ali scored two sixes in Miraj’s over to give Dhaka the lead again. After that, Naeem came to life. Parvez dropped his easy catch on Kamrul Islam Rabbi. Naeem hit 53 of 43 balls on that shot.
After fifty years of life, Naeem became irresistible. Kamrul hit three sixes in one and Taskin six fours in the over. Reach the 1950s with just 16 balls!
Yasir was also playing very well with Naeem’s 70-ball century. At the time, Dhaka’s victory seemed very possible. Naeem and Yasir still needed 23 runs in the final two overs.
Naeem was caught on edge by Sumon Khan’s full pitch in the last over. Yasir also survived with an easy catch on the next ball. Sumon gave only 6 runs in that change.
It took 16 runs in the last over. Although the first ball of Kamrul’s over was deflected, Yasir (41 of 27 balls) was left out trying to take a bye run.
After a ball, the new batter hit Mukta’s six and saved the game again. Muktar also came out with the next ball. Akbar couldn’t hit the bat on the fourth and fifth balls and Barisal’s victory was assured. Akbar Ali’s six on the last ball were down to 2 runs.
The two teams will meet again in the knockout match on Monday. On the same day, Gazi Group Chittagong and Jamcon Khulna will play the first qualifying to reach the final.
