Dhaka: Government high schools across the country will begin accepting applications for admission via the online lottery beginning December 15 (Tuesday).
The Department of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi) has issued a notification that applications can be submitted online (https://gsa.teletalk.com.bd) until 5pm on December 26 (Sunday).
Students will be selected for admission through an online lottery on December 30th.
Education Minister Dipu Moni has said that due to the corona virus epidemic, students will be admitted to schools by lottery without any exams.
According to Mausi’s notification, 44 government high schools in the Dhaka metropolis will be divided into three groups, including three power branches. At the time of application, a student may select a maximum of five in the order of preference in a group.
And students across the country will get the list of educational institutions based on the police station at the time of application selection. Candidates will then be able to select a maximum of 5 schools in order of preference based on availability.
After accepting the application, a student will be selected for the school through an online lottery. Many days a student has the opportunity to choose a school as a group.
To apply for admission, a fee of Tk 110 can be paid per SMS from Teletalk’s prepaid mobile phone.
Each year, only first class students were admitted by lottery, but in other classes students were admitted through an admissions test.
Admission to the ninth class was based on the results of the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) exams.
On the occasion of Corona, this time the exam for the admission of students from first to eighth class will be taken.
Mausi said that since there was no JSC-JDC exam this time, there was no opportunity to admit students to the ninth class based on the results of the eighth.
