A schoolgirl has been accused of gang raping her alleged boyfriend and four of her friends for demanding marriage in Manohardi, Narsingdi. The incident took place in the village of Hafizpur in Chalakchar, a union of the Upazila. The raped student is studying in the tenth class at a local high school. The mother of the raped schoolgirl has filed a lawsuit against her boyfriend Shaon Miah and four of his friends at the Manohardi police station. The girl was sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for a medical examination last Thursday. The accused are Shaon Mia (25), Mubarak Hossain (22), son of Gias Uddin from Changain village of the same union. Ashik Mia (23), Md. Mubarak Hossain (22) and Sumon Mia (22) from Chalakchar village. According to the complaint, the defendant Shaon Mia had a long love affair with the sophomore. Two and a half months ago, her boyfriend Shaon took his girlfriend to court in Narsingdi to get married. Later, Shawn took his lover’s signature on two white stamps to a nearby store without getting married through court. The bride was informed that the two were married. Shawn asked to keep the matter a secret for at least three months. Recently when the student asked for marriage documents, Shaon started making excuses.
On December 3, her boyfriend Shaon Mia called her on her mobile phone to take her for a walk in the Bagadi de la upazila park. After chatting in the park all day, at night, Shawn and his 4 accomplices kidnapped his girlfriend and took her to a secluded place. Later, he kept her there for 4 days and raped her in turn. After the incident, last Tuesday night (December 6), the victim dropped off the student at the corner of Bakshila near Chalakchar Bazar in Manohardi. Later, the relatives found out and rescued him from there and took him home. Police officer Manohardi in charge (OC) said. Moniruzzaman said a case has been filed at the police station for gang raping a schoolgirl. The defendants have been on the run since the incident. The police continue their operation to arrest the fugitives and subject them to the law.
