A four-year-old boy, Enamul Haque Musa (Talha), was stabbed to death in Sunamganj. The incident took place at noon on Friday in Gujaura Hasannagar of the municipality. A 50-second post about the incident was spread on Facebook.
The video shows the murderer Abdul Halim smiling. He was even heard saying, “I’m hitting the baby for the pain.” The video went viral last night from a Facebook ID called Bindu Talukder. The incident was also caught on a closed-circuit television camera near the scene, police said.
The deceased was identified as Enamul Haque Musa, son of Nurul Haque from Gujaura village. The home of the attacker Abdul Halim is in the Moinpur village of the Surma Union of Sadar upazila. According to the police and the victim’s family, the boy Talha was playing in front of his house yesterday afternoon. Abdul Halim first kicked Talha and knocked her to the ground. He then hit Talha on the head with a heavy stone five or six times. The baby’s head was crushed and it was bleeding heavily.
As they passed the scene, relatives heard the screams of a motorcyclist and rescued Talha and took her to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet. But yesterday afternoon the doctor declared the boy dead. The locals detained the attacker from the place. They said he was drunk.
Sunamganj Sadar Model Police Officer in Charge (OC) said. Shahidur Rahman told Jago News: “The incident is very tragic. Can anyone kill a child like that? The locals arrested a young man and handed him over to the police. He is being interrogated. However, the incident was captured by a nearby CCTV camera.
