In this way Vijayadanka is bad, history is written.

The Padma Bridge is visible as a world-class infrastructure. He defeated the Pakistani army in 1971 and showed the Bengali nation. In the month of that victory in 2020, the Bengalis once again proved that we can too. The dream of a prosperous future in Bangladesh of immense potential was a dream come true, it is only a matter of time before that dream comes true after overcoming many obstacles.

Let’s look back a bit. On July 4, 2001, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone for the Padma Bridge, a dream long cherished by the people of southern Bangladesh. After that, a lot of water flowed into the Padma but the construction of the bridge could not be started. Shortly after Sheikh Hasina took over as Prime Minister again in 2009, a design consultant was appointed for the Padma Bridge. In 2010, prequalification bids were launched. Then the eventful time passed. The World Bank, the main donor to the Padma Bridge, suspended the loan contract in September 2011 after several delays and then canceled the contract. So Bangladesh decided to build the bridge with its own funds. The last span of the Padma Bridge was laid last Thursday. After laying the last span of the dream Padma Bridge, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who played the most important role in the construction of this bridge, said: ‘Bangladesh is building the Padma Bridge to its own capacity. The connectivity that will be created with the south as a result of the construction of this bridge will contribute directly to our GDP.

For the people of the country, the Padma Bridge is not just a great bridge, it is the name of an adventurous dream. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina challenged the almighty World Bank by saying: “We will build the Padma Bridge with our own money.” The plan to build a bridge for a less developed country at a cost of Rs 30,193 crore without any foreign help was an adventurous move. And so this steel structure not only connected the other side of the Padma, but also added a historic achievement to national life. The bridge will be a symbol of trust and security for the country’s people instead of relying on foreign aid for development projects. Some also think that this achievement will undoubtedly give third world countries courage and inspiration to get out of foreign corporate debt.

The Padma Bridge is the largest project in the country in terms of size and construction cost. This will be the first double-decker bridge in the country. Motor vehicles will race upstairs. Both the metropolitan gauge and the broad gauge trains will run on the ground floor. The launch of this new bridge that will connect the southern part of the country with other regions will negatively affect the economy. The Padma Bridge will change the face of the southern part of the country. If this project is implemented worth Tk 30,193 crore, a direct communication between the capital and the port city of Chittagong will be established with the port of Mongla and the land port of Benapole. The government expects GDP to increase by 1.2 percent and poverty to decrease by 0.84 percent annually.

This bridge will be the first integrated communication system in Bangladesh. The lives of the people of the Southwest will change. The southwest is developed in agriculture. Once this bridge is completed, your agricultural products will easily reach Dhaka. The capital and port city of Chittagong will be directly connected to the port of Mongla and the land port of Benapole. This will have an impact on the economy of the entire country. A 12 percent rate of return on an investment is considered ideal. If this bridge is built, 19 percent of the annual investment will come out. This bridge will play a very important role in agriculture, industry, economy, education and commerce.

The future of Bangladesh will revolve around this bridge of dreams. If the plan is taken now, experts believe it is possible to build a city around the Padma Bridge on both sides of the Padma in the style of Singapore and Shanghai, China. What can happen around this bridge, where there will be industries, where there will be agricultural land? Those issues must be considered quickly. This bridge will add a new dimension to tourism. Many modern quality hotels and resorts will be built. The bridge will play an important role in regional connectivity between Asia and Southeast Asia. This bridge will also play an important role in turning Bangladesh into a developed country in 2035-40.

Economists say that the Padma Bridge has already created a kind of trust among South Bengal entrepreneurs. Large-scale development of the shipbuilding, tourism and small and medium-sized business sector will take place around this bridge. A tourist center will be installed in that area. Travelers will run directly from Dhaka.

According to experts, a big dream is about to come true, as the main infrastructure of the Padma Bridge has been established. If the rest of the work is completed on time, we will get immediate benefits from the travel facilities. It will take much less time to get in and out of Dhaka. The cost of freight transportation will be reduced. As a result, the business speed will increase. Investors will now show interest in investing in the Southwest. However, some complementary issues need to be improved. Because the Padma Bridge has also posed a new challenge for us, which is to bring the benefits of the bridge to everyone. If the Padma bridge opens, the commercial speed will increase in the southern part of the country. Investors will show interest in investing in the Southwest. Now some of the accessories need to be improved. To reach the people of the villages or char areas that are connected to the Padma Bridge, they have to make the connection to the bridge. The Jamuna Bridge has removed the word “manga” from North Bengal. This is an indirect benefit of the Jamuna Bridge. The environment itself creates opportunities by increasing demand and then the investment goes there. Communication is a prerequisite for this investment.

The Padma Bridge project is a great example of how even mountainous obstacles can be overcome if the goal is fixed and in unbreakable danger. With this bridge under construction, the water in the country and abroad has not decreased. The blow of the political sword fell no less. We not only dream of a prosperous future in Bangladesh, a land of immense potential; I have also become proficient in implementation: the Padma Bridge is visible proof of this.
