Three people, including Arifur Rahman, son of the president of Upazila Parishad, have been arrested in a case of the alleged beating of two RAB members in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria. They were sent to the district jail through court on Thursday afternoon.
The arrested Arifur Rahman is the son of Ashuganj League Deputy Secretary General Upazila Awami and Upazila Parishad President Hanif Munshi. The other two detainees are Aryan Saber alias Chanchal (28) from Charchartala Union and Salauddin Milon (33) from Araisidha Union.
According to the RAB and the sources in the case, two members of the RAB-14 Bhairab camp went in front of the Munshi market in Ashuganj Bazar on Wednesday evening. Put their bikes there. Some people, including Arifur, son of the President of Ashuganj Upazila Parishad, Hanif Munshi, were present at the time. Arifur asked two members of the RAB to remove the motorcycle from there. Arifur was angered when they introduced themselves as members of the RAB. At one point, Arifur, his cousin Aryan, Salahuddin, and four or five others beat up two RAB members. After the incident, RAB raided the scene at night and arrested three people.
