The deputy general secretary of the Awami League, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, said that the national anthem should be sung and the national flag should be hoisted in all madrasas. Because it’s in the constitution, if you want to live in this country, you have to abide by the constitution. There is no opportunity to go beyond the constitution.

Addressing the imams in the mosque, he said: “Misinformation and various misinterpretations about the sculpture are being used to create confusion among the people. You must make it clear during your sermon in the mosque that the sculpture is not conflictive or prohibited in the Islam”. I do not want a misinterpretation against the country on this issue of sculpture.

Hanif said: “You have to unite strongly against those who want to hinder the development and progress of the country by cultivating superstitions and using politics from home as a tool to work against the government and the state.”

Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif made the remarks while addressing an exchange meeting with imams and ulama from the mosque at 12 noon on Thursday.
