In addition, the World Health Organization will also give some vaccines to Bangladesh. The government will get them in time. About 26 percent of the country’s population is expected to be gradually vaccinated with these vaccines.

On the occasion, the Minister highlighted the various achievements of Bangladesh in the field of vaccination. As a result of proper and efficient vaccination, 10 types of serious infectious diseases, such as measles, rubella and polio, are on the way to being eradicated from the country, he said. The success of the health sector has made it possible to vaccinate around 90 percent of the country’s children, the minister said.

Regarding the immunization program, the Minister of Health said that despite several national measles and rubella campaigns in the past, the incidence and incidence of measles and rubella in the country has increased in recent years. To overcome this situation and achieve the goal of eradicating measles and rubella from the country by 2023, the government will carry out another measles-rubella campaign throughout the country from December 12 to January 24. As part of this campaign, one dose of the MR vaccine will be administered to approximately 34 million children under 9 months to 10 years of age throughout the country.
