Nurul Haque Nur, former vice president of the Central Student Parliament (Daksu) at Dhaka University, narrowly escaped being hit twice by a private car. The incident took place in the Malibagh area around 11pm on Wednesday (December 9). He filed a written complaint at the Hatirjheel Police Station around 4:30 pm.

According to the complaint, Nur said a private car (Dhaka Metro G-31-6506) followed them as they exited the Malibagh overpass around 11pm on their way back to Badda’s home. Twice in a row, the private car tried to push Nur’s motorcycle, but the motorcyclist Aminul Islam (24) managed to avoid the push of the private car and the private car collided with a bus in front of the DIT Road Abul Hotel below the police station of Hatirjheel.

It is alleged that after colliding with the bus, the driver of the private car threw it back and tried to push Nur’s motorcycle again. However, the local population has already taken the private car.

Nur said he was not on a motorcycle at the time of the incident, but in another car next door. His associates Shakil Uzzaman and Mohammad Sohrab Hossain witnessed the incident from another vehicle in the rear.

Nurul Haque Nur claimed that this was done with the intent to kill and said: “I think the incident was done with the intent to kill me by hitting the car.” Therefore, in addition to taking action under existing law regarding the above incidents, I demand to ensure my safety.
