The Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, said that the Dhaka South City Corporation is being cleansed of corruption in the same way that man-made waste is removed from the original Buriganga River canal, Kalunagar canals and Basabo. Immediate action is being taken if a complaint is received against someone in the city building.
He was speaking to reporters on Wednesday (December 9) at noon while inspecting the original canal waste disposal from the Buriganga, Kalunagar and Basabo river canals.
Responding to a question from journalists on the issue of illegal occupation and eviction, the mayor of DSCC said: “If we want to do a good job, there will be obstacles. But we have started this activity with determination and determination.
He added that the delivery process of the original Buriganga channel, including 11 channels, under Dhaka South City Corporation has begun. That is why DSCC does not stand still. I want to keep the channels clean and free this season. Last week I visited the Basabo channel through the Jirani channel. Now I have come to visit the Buriganga Canal and the Kalunagar Canal.
“We have started cleaning the canals,” Tapas said. In the initial stage, we will determine the limits with cleanliness. Limits will be delimited and illegal occupations will be released and an aesthetic atmosphere will be created in the places.
The DSSC mayor said there are big plans for the original Buriganga canal, adding that the canal will be restored. At the same time, an aesthetic environment will also be created here.
The mayor said, I have started working from day one. Our main disadvantage in this work is that the channels close, throwing waste. There is no water flow. Therefore, before the next monsoon season, the channels will be cleared and fences will be put up where the boundaries are demarcated.
During the visit, the CEO of Dhaka South City Corporation, ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, the director of waste management Air Commodore. Badrul Amin, Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman, Property Manager Russell Sabrin, Chief Revenue Officer Ariful Haque and others were in attendance.
