An eighth grader (13) became pregnant after being raped by her aunt in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. The girl’s father filed a written complaint with the Gafargaon Police Station on Monday afternoon and the police arrested the defendant Abdul Matin Bhunya, 50 years old.
The incident took place in the Upazila village of Outbaria. The victim is a student at the Banagram government primary school in Kishori Upazila. The defendant Abdul Matin Bhuiyan is the son of the late Abdul Bhuiyan from the village of Kushtia (Senbari) in Trishal upazila. He lived in the house of his father-in-law Abdus Salam in the village of Outbaria.
According to the police, Abdul Matin Bhuiyan used to visit his brother’s home due to his relationship. On November 30, he raped the girl and threatened to harm her if she told anyone about the incident. The schoolgirl did not tell anyone about the incident out of fear, but became ill a few days after the incident. On Sunday, relatives took her to the doctor, who performed an ultrasound and confirmed that she was one month and 18 days pregnant. During the questioning of family members in this situation, the girl’s own Khalu said that she was raped. When his father filed a written complaint with the Gafargaon Police Station on Monday afternoon, the police raided the town of Outbaria and arrested Abdul Matin Bhunya at his father-in-law’s house and took him to the police station.
The student’s father said, “My daughter’s life is ruined.” I want an exemplary judgment on this.
Gafargaon OC Anukul Sarkar Police Station said the defendant in the case has been arrested. The defendant pleaded guilty during preliminary questioning. Later, on Monday afternoon, he was sent to Mymensingh Jail through court.
