As a result of the new size, the height of China has increased by about 4 meters from the previous size, and the size of Nepal has increased by 6 centimeters. Concerns about the height of Everest have been created since 2015.

Everest was thought to have shrunk after a major earthquake that year. But in the end, it has gotten a bit longer.

There has been a long-standing dispute over the exact size of Mount Everest. But after the measurement by George Everest, the Surveyor General of undivided India, after whom Everest was named, 848 meters became acceptable starting in the 1950s.

In 1986, Italian experts set a new height of 82 meters for the top of Everest. In 1999, a survey conducted by the United States using the GPS system again reached 650 meters.

In 2005, China again measured the height of the summit of Everest at 744.43 meters. But Nepal did not meet China’s demand, as some of the icebergs were left out.
