The Islamic Movement of Bangladesh, which has moved away from its previous stance on the construction of statues and sculptures, says it has not commented on the sculptures or the demolition of statues. If someone behaves like this, they will be completely out of commission.
Amir Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim made the remarks at a press conference at the Bangladesh Islamic Movement headquarters in Purana Paltan in the capital on Tuesday.
Responding to a question about the demolition of the sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia, Rezaul Karim said: “We have only expressed our opinions about the sculpture or idols from the point of view of Islam. But I did not say anything. to break or provoke the idol.
He further said: “I have clearly said about breaking the idol, if someone is behaving in this way, they are completely misplaced and motivated. We also support the government to take action against the culprits through proper investigation.
In a written statement at the press conference, Rezaul Karim said: “There was no animosity towards Bangabandhu in the demands of the ulama. The Alem community and Muslim religious people in general can express their longing for the idol to the government. It is the responsibility of the authorities to accept it. ‘
But by misrepresenting the issue, it has been taken as a tool to humiliate all the respected ulama in the country. He also mentioned that an opportunist group is generating extreme provocation and tension in the country by focusing on the issue.
Amir Junaid Babungari of Hefazat-e-Islam, the deputy general secretary of the Mamunul Haque organization and the high-ranking naib of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Amir Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, were required to drop the sedition case.
In addition, the ulama insulted society and religious people, published cartoons and insulted them, called for conflict and struggle, and demanded that they be brought to justice and punished.
Rezaul Karim added: “If the government fails to stop the excesses and provocative activities of its benefactors and conspiratorial forces against the country, then religious people will be forced to build resistance.”
