India could not whitewash. Australia had the opportunity to shut out the T20 series at home. But that hope was not fulfilled. After winning the first two T20s, India lost to Ajit by 12 runs in the third T20. In response to Ajit’s 4/18, India put 164/6 on the scoreboard.

Captain Virat Kohli was fighting alone with all 16 Australian races in the lead. However, the last defense was not. He played a tough 65-run inning with 61 balls, but failed to beat the team. He left with a trap in the last lag. Hardik played the role of finalist the day before and won the match with six sixes. That day he couldn’t face the pressure. In a 20-run, 13-ball inning, the team hoped to win but couldn’t deliver.

With the exception of Hardik and Kohli, the rest have missed the bat. KL Rahul (0), Shikhar Dhawan (26), Sanju Samson (10), Shreyas Iyer (0) couldn’t catch the bat. Shreyas and KL Rahul exited before opening the book.

So the captain was fighting in one effort. He couldn’t put the finishing touch on it though. Despite losing the day, India won the T20 series 2-1.

Earlier in the day, Team India won the toss and chose to hit. Same as the day before. Wicketkeepers Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell, who came down to open the day for Australia, were selected.

Wade hit only 80 of 53 balls with a strike rate of over 150. He hit three limits in addition to six limits. Maxwell had 54 with 36 balls. His entries were classified into three limits and over limits. Smith made 24 of 23 balls. None of the other hitters could run that way. Washington is one of the most successful Indian bowlers. He fired them both. Natarajan and Shardul Tagore each took a wicket.
