Even after working in one place for 50 years, you can’t be sure of money. There is no security. Even at the age of 80, I have to think about money, said Mamunur Rashid, the best playwright in the country.

The Performing Artists Association has called for the formation of a Television Artists Welfare Fund. That is why they have come to the attention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The organization’s leaders made the demand at a press conference at the organization’s office in the capital’s Niketan at 11 a.m. on Monday (December 6). Mamunur Rashid, Shilpi Sangha’s advisor, was present there.

In his speech, Mamunur Rashid said that those who are very big stars also have to spend their days in need. If you have to suffer in this way while practicing art, then day by day people’s love and trust towards this place will diminish. Qualified people are lacking here. To do this, the government has to give serious thought to financial security.

“Everyone wants security after working a lifetime,” he said. But those of us who are involved with acting don’t get it. Some people can guarantee financial security by gaining stardom. That is very low in number. Many people lack money even with stardom. He suffered in the last age.

Meanwhile, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Secretary General of the Actors Association, presented his written demands to journalists at the press conference. There is information on what kind of welfare fund artists expect.

He said that the social assistance fund should be such that a monthly allowance can be provided to 65-year-old artists. Medical allowances should be provided to artists injured in accidents or suffering from chronic illnesses. There should also be a monthly allowance for artists who are unable to work due to physical and mental disasters. Or the type of welfare fund may be a one-time government allocation. The welfare fund can also be formed by allocating a certain amount of money by the government each financial year.

Ahsan Habib Nasim, the organization’s secretary general, said: ‘Our demand is reasonable. We request the Honorable Prime Minister through the Ministry of Information to establish a Television Artists Welfare Fund in the interest of the television industry and for the development of industrial culture. Hopefully you will consider our demands and stick with the artists in the television industry who have entertained the people of the country for a long time.

The organization’s President Shahiduzzaman Selim, Secretary General Ahsan Habib Nasim and Deputy Secretary General Raunak Hasan were present at the press conference. The press conference was led by Pran Roy, Secretary for Publications and Publicity.
