Amir Allama Junaid Babungari of Hefazat-e-Islam is not upset by the ‘sedition’ case for speaking out against the sculpture of the Father of the Nation. He commented that it is a sign of good fortune and salvation.

Enamul Hasan Farooqui, Babungari’s personal assistant, made the claim in a Facebook post on Monday (December 6) at noon.

Enamul Hasan’s post reads: ‘Some time ago when I told my dear Shaykh and Murshid Quaid-e-Azam Shaykhul Hadith Allama Junaid Babungari, a case was brought against Allama Mamunul Haque and Allama Faizul Karim together with you on the matter of the sculpture.

Huzur laughed and said: “We have been sued for speaking out against the sculpture while transmitting the message of the Quran and Hadith. This will be salvation, and this is our good fortune. ‘

By the way, the court has taken cognizance of two cases brought against him for speaking against the sculpture of the Father of the Nation.

The Police Investigation Office (PBI) was ordered to investigate the two cases and submit a report before January 8.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Chief Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder’s court approved the order on Monday afternoon.

Amir Junaid Babungari of Hefazat-e-Islam, Mamunul Haque, Acting General Secretary of Khilafah Majlis, and Naib Amir Syed Faizul Karim of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, have been charged in one of the cases.

Hefazat’s deputy general secretary, Mamunul Haque, has been indicted in another case.

Muktijuddha Mancha President Aminul Islam Bulbul presented the first case in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court Satyabrata Sikder on Monday morning.

The second application was filed in the same court by lawyer Mashiur Malek, Executive Chairman of the Bangabandhu Foundation.
