The under-construction sculpture of the father of the nation of Kushtia Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has demanded punishment for those who were injured. Akhtaruzzaman.

He said the sculpture is threatened today. Addressing the government in this regard, he said, it is advisable to be tough against any evil forces that destroy civilization.

The vice chancellor said this on a human chain at the foot of the invincible Bengal of Dhaka University on Monday noon.

The Association of University Teachers organized the human chain to protest against the vandalism of the sculpture and demand exemplary punishment for the guilty by showing contempt for the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on behalf of opposition to the sculpture by fundamentalist groups fanatical extremists.

The Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University said: “It is our great misfortune that the powerful mediums of art, especially sculpture, are threatened today. Overall, it is a remarkable medium of art, civilization, and human development. When it is threatened, hampered, when its development is impaired, humanity is doomed, human qualities are paralyzed. We have to go through such a situation. I guess the time has come for the masses to get involved.

If the masses are involved, their form will get harder and harder. When members of the Dhaka University family participate in any work, our people will participate. We do not want to prevent such an unfortunate event with the participation of so many people as a whole, because the consequences will be extremely difficult, terrible and frightening. We will call on the government to take immediate action against this vicious circle of arrogant people who spread religious hatred and create divisions among the people and hinder the development of civilization and humanity. That is the demand of the time.
