Kushtia Municipality Executive Engineer Rabiul Islam said municipal authorities have taken the initiative to build three Bangabandhu sculptures at the intersection of five roads. There will also be sculptures of four national leaders on the same altar.

The work of erecting a sculpture of Bangabandhu was almost finished; The sculptor’s right arm, entire face and left arm were partially destroyed in the attack on Friday night.

Leaders and activists from the Awami League and allied organizations have been holding demonstrations, processions and human chaining in Kushtia for two days since the incident.
