Instructions to provide security for Bangabandhu murals across the country

Dhaka: The High Court has ordered that immediate measures be taken to ensure adequate security for the Bangabandhu murals and the complex under construction at Suhrawardy Udyan.

A virtual court of the High Court of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice Shahed Nuruddin approved the order on Monday (December 6). The cabinet secretary has been asked to take the necessary steps to implement the order.

The court issued the order at the request of lawyer Bashir Ahmed, who had filed a writ of writ in the case of declaring March 8 as “National Historic Day.”

Bashir Ahmed told the courtFor the safety of the murals that have been erected under the direction of the court, so that each SP Deputy Commissioner is instructed to maintain them within 24 hours. One of the worst incidents has taken place in Kushtia.

The court commended the ministry for placing Bangabandhu murals in front of the Muktijoddha Complex in different districts and upazilas.

In 2016, Bashir Ahmed, former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association, filed the appeal petition. Following the hearing on the writ, the Superior Court had issued a rule asking why March 8 should not be declared as “National Historic Day.”
