Voice of Time, Khagrachhari – Two 11-year-old twin sisters have been raped by a lustful father in Manikchhari, Khagrachhari. The lustful father’s name is Nurul Alam alias Alam (52). He is a resident of the Guchhgram area of Manikchhari.
Police arrested the accused on Saturday night (December 5). The court sent him to jail on Sunday. Two rape victims have been sent to Khagrachhari hospital for a medical check-up.
According to locals and police sources, Father Nur Alam (49) used to rape and sexually harass his twin daughters more than once. After the incident, they were raped again last Friday night (December 4). The next day, Saturday (December 5), the two sisters informed Nani Fatema Begum about the incident.
In such a tragic and heinous incident, a storm of condemnation breaks out in Manikchhari in the mountainous Khagrachhari district. The conscientious community has demanded the punishment of the lustful father.
Fatema Begum, the twin sisters’ grandmother, who was raped on Saturday afternoon, filed a case with the Manikchhari Police Station under the Woman and Child Abuse Act.
Manikchhari Police Officer in Charge (CO) Amir Hossain said rapist Nur Alam was arrested Saturday night on charges of involvement in the rape. Initial questioning revealed that he had raped two boys.
It added that the defendant was sent to the Khagrachhari court on Sunday (December 6) at noon after registering a case under the Abuse of Women and Children Act.
